Yusufu’s Story – Building a Home, Finding Faith, and Belonging

Itangishaka Yusufu, a deaf employee from Rwamagana, joined Masaka Farms in 2019 without knowing how profoundly his life would change. What started as a job quickly became a place of belonging, support, and unprecedented personal and spiritual growth.

Through his steady work as Lead Cook (Production), Yusufu has been able to build his own home — something he once believed was far beyond reach. His spiritual journey shifted in an equally beautiful way. He arrived as a Muslim, but the prayerful, Christ-centered culture at Masaka Farms touched him deeply. Witnessing answered prayers and experiencing peace in difficult moments opened his heart to faith, and he eventually chose to follow Jesus. His spiritual life continues to flourish to this day.

During his years here, Yusufu also married the love of his life, Veronique Musabimana. The overwhelming love and support he received from colleagues, friends, and family on their wedding day strengthened his sense of community and belonging like never before.

Today, Yusufu stands stronger — spiritually, financially, and emotionally. His journey is a living testimony of the hope that grows when people are welcomed, valued, and encouraged.

Masaka Farms didn’t just give me a job. It gave me a home, a family, hope and a new life in Christ.
